TV Tuesday: All Creatures Great and Small Season 1 Episode 2 + Forever Season 1 Thoughts

18 min19 maj 2026

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re heading back to the Yorkshire Dales for All Creatures Great and Small season 1, episode 2, “Another Farnon?,” on PBS Masterpiece, and honestly… I’m officially falling in love with this series.

This episode introduces us to Tristan Farnon, Siegfried’s younger brother, whose chaotic arrival completely shifts the energy of Skeldale House. While episode 1 focused heavily on James trying to prove himself and find his place in Darrowby, this episode becomes more about family dynamics, approval, insecurity, pride, and the complicated ways people show love.

At the same time, James’ growing confidence begins turning into impatience and arrogance in certain moments, especially with the Handshaws’ cow situation, while Siegfried unexpectedly shows a softer and more emotionally vulnerable side of himself. I really loved the contrast between the two of them this week.

And of course… we also get more Helen Alderson, countryside coziness, village charm, Tricki Woo chaos, and one very awkward party.

At the end of the episode, I also share a quick cozy chat and mini review of Forever season 1 on Netflix, the adaptation of Forever by Judy Blume starring Lovie Simone as Keisha Clark and Michael Cooper Jr. as Justin Edwards.

⚠️ Spoiler NoteThis episode contains spoilers for All Creatures Great and Small season 1, episode 2 and light season discussion for Forever season 1.

Cozy Reflection

This episode really deepened my emotional connection to All Creatures Great and Small.

Episode 1 made me feel attached to the world, but episode 2 made me feel attached to the characters.

I loved seeing James become a little more flawed this week. In the first episode, he felt so eager and gentle, but now we’re watching what happens when confidence starts turning into pride. At the same time, Siegfried becomes softer and more emotionally vulnerable, especially once we understand the pressure he feels to take care of Tristan after their father’s death.

And honestly… the Farnon brothers dynamic completely won me over.

They frustrate each other constantly, but underneath all the sarcasm and chaos, there’s genuine love there.

I also loved how the party sequence balanced cozy whimsy with emotional awkwardness. Watching James realize Helen may already have someone in her life felt very relatable and human, especially after all his growing confidence earlier in the episode.

As for Forever, I thought it handled young love, Black family dynamics, anxiety, identity, and coming-of-age experiences in such a thoughtful and emotionally honest way. It isn’t “cozy” in the traditional sense, but emotionally, it reminded me a lot of those nostalgic teenage stories that stay with you long after you finish them.

Let’s Chat
