TV Tuesday: Hidden Gem or Comfort Watch? Patience vs Best Medicine

12 min5 maj 2026

In today’s TV Tuesday, we’re diving into two very different but equally satisfying watches: Patience on PBS Masterpiece and Best Medicine. One is a hidden gem mystery with emotional depth, and the other is a chaotic comfort watch set in a small coastal town.

We’re talking complex mysteries, strong character development, and what it looks like when a show makes you think versus when it lets you fully relax.

Patience gives us layered storytelling, neurodivergent representation, and mysteries that require your full attention. Best Medicine leans into quirky characters, community vibes, and that familiar small town energy.

This is one of those TV Tuesdays where you might find your next favorite show depending on the mood you’re in.

And don’t forget, our Read It and Watch It pick for May is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, along with the 2025 Netflix adaptation. Be sure to check out this week’s This Week at Cozy Comfort Club over on Substack for more details.

Cozy Reflection

This week really felt like two sides of the cozy spectrum.

Patience is the kind of show that pulls you in slowly and asks you to pay attention. It is thoughtful, emotional, and sometimes a little overwhelming in a good way. You are not just solving mysteries. You are understanding people and how their past shapes them.

Best Medicine is the opposite…in a good way.

It is familiar, a little chaotic, and easy to fall into. The kind of show you can watch while cooking, winding down, or just needing something that feels like comfort. The characters are quirky, the town feels alive, and even the heavier moments are balanced with humor.

I love having both of these in rotation because sometimes I want to think and sometimes I just want to feel at home in a story.
