The Initiation She Never Asked For: Stage 3 Cancer, Plant Medicine & Learning To Surrender — Elizabeth Anura (@elizabeth_anura)

1 tim 26 min19 augusti 2026

This week, we sit down with Elizabeth Anura, a Kambo practitioner, writer and woman who has spent more than a decade exploring healing, detox, ceremony and the relationship between the body, mind and spirit.

Just one year ago, Elizabeth Anura was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

After years of living consciously and working deeply with detox, plant medicine and natural healing, the diagnosis forced her into a journey she never expected- one that ultimately led her to surrender to chemotherapy after spending around four months trying to heal it naturally.

In this episode, Anura shares the story of her diagnosis, the months she spent exploring alternative approaches, her relationship with Kambo, and what happened when everything she believed about healing was suddenly put to the test.

We talk about death and rebirth, fear, surrender, psychedelics, the Western medical system, preparing the body for chemotherapy, and why Anura experienced almost none of the side effects she had expected.

But most importantly, we talk about what happens when life gives us an initiation we would never have chosen for ourselves,  and how we can find meaning, trust and transformation in the middle of it.

An honest and deeply personal conversation about cancer, healing, plant medicine, Western medicine, surrender and learning to meet life exactly where we are.
