TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 121:5–8
[5] The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. [6] The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. [7] The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. [8] The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (ESV)
SUMMARY
We read Psalm 121:5–8 and sit with one steady claim: God keeps us, oversees our lives, and can be trusted when we feel unsafe or worn down. We also name what the Psalm is not promising, then end with a simple prayer that helps us lay down with confidence and peace.
• reading Psalm 121:5–8 as a nighttime anchor
• defining “The Lord is your keeper” as God’s active care over our whole lives
• explaining “sun by day” and “moon by night” as total coverage rather than a literal guarantee
• clarifying “kept from all evil” without pretending hardship never happens
• resting in God’s rule over our going out and coming in
