Abdullah I and the Unfinished Kingdom: Palestine's Transjordan Shadow
Om avsnittet
In this episode, Lucas and Luna explore the deeply contentious role of Abdullah I of Jordan in the making of modern Palestine. From secret wartime meetings with Zionist leaders to the 1948 annexation of the West Bank, Abdullah's ambitions shaped borders, identities, and the fate of a Palestinian state. They discuss the 1921 Cairo Conference, the 1947 secret agreement with Golda Meir, the Jordanian occupation, and the 1951 assassination by a Palestinian at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is the story of a king who wanted Jerusalem, the Palestinians who fought him, and the legacy that outlasted him.
