80s Dance Throwback: Fall 2023 Volume 1, Nu Disco & Retro House

This episode is a Dance Classics throwback — Fall Throwback 2023 Volume 1 — a 2023 collection of modernized 80s, 90s and 00s songs reworked for the dancefloor. The set leans on ’80s dance and Nu Disco while touching 90s house and funky-house edits, gathering contemporary remixes and DJ-friendly rewrites intended for club play and retro-themed DJ sets. Producers like Block & Crown, GhostMasters and Disco Gurls dominate the sequence, offering upbeat Nu Disco and club mixes of familiar melodies. Highlights include Ian Ossia’s Living In A Disco, Softmal & Nytron’s All Night Long (2K21 Mix), Khetama & Lissat’s Vogued, and a surprising house-tinged take on Heart’s Alone that underlines how far some edits will push the source material. The compilation spans nearly three hours and was assembled from material gathered since the summer; it’s intentionally eclectic — sometimes playful, sometimes awkward — but aimed at listeners and DJs curious about classic songs reframed for modern dancefloors. Expect lots of Nu Disco hooks, club-ready production, and plenty of remixing energy that sets up a second, more ’80s-focused volume.
