House of Doors Author Makes History with Third Booker Prize Listing - Part 2

Tan Twan Eng is an award-winning author born in Penang, Malaysia, who divides his time between Kuala Lumpur and Cape Town. His debut novel, The Gift of Rain, was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2007, while his second novel, The Garden of Evening Mists, was shortlisted for the same honor. The Garden of Evening Mists went on to win the Man Asian Literary Prize and the Walter Scott Prize in 2013 and was adapted into an award-winning film in 2019. In 2023, he became the only author to have all his novels featured on the Booker Prize listings. His latest work, The House of Doors, was also published in 2023.
