Mothers and Memory: Tayari Jones on Kin

Tayari Jones is an American author best known for An American Marriage, which won the Women’s Prize for fiction in 2019. The novel won multiple other awards and was on Barack Obama’s summer reading list. Jones, who is the recipient of many writing awards, is also a professor of Creative Writing at Emory University. She is listed in the Times 100 Influential People of 2026.
