Long before Jesus appeared,
the Old Testament declared:
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.”
But what kind of darkness was this?
Was it simply the absence of sunlight?
And was the “great light”
only a physical light in the sky?
If light in Scripture represents truth and the Word of God,
could this prophecy have been pointing to Jesus?
Jesus did not come
to make the daytime brighter.
He came to awaken people
who were living in ignorance,
false teaching,
and spiritual darkness.
But seeing the light is not the end of the story.
Jesus also told His disciples:
“You are the light of the world.”
Those who truly receive the truth
are not meant to hide it.
They are called to become lamps—
revealing that truth through their words,
their actions,
and the lives they lead.
