Holy Week & Pascha with Children: Tradition, Chaos, and Joy

Holy Week and Pascha are the heart of the Orthodox faith—but experiencing them with children can feel both beautiful and overwhelming.

In this episode, Kyra and Anna walk through the services and traditions of Holy Week—from Palm Sunday to the Bridegroom services, Good Friday, and the quiet anticipation of Holy Saturday—all the way to the joy of Pascha night.

They share what these moments mean in the life of the Church, along with honest, practical ways to include children: what to prioritize, what to let go of, and how to focus on creating an experience of beauty, reverence, and joy.

This isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about helping our children enter the story—through candles, prayers, movement, and memory.

Whether you’re new to Orthodoxy or have been celebrating Pascha for years, this conversation offers encouragement, perspective, and simple ways to make Holy Week come alive in your family.

Christ is Risen—let’s help our children grow up knowing what that feels like!
