Episode 161: Maciej Werk (Soundedit, Hedone)
Om avsnittet
This month, from the 23rd-27th of October, Łódź, Poland will host the 18th edition of Soundedit—an international festival “dedicated entirely to the art and technology of music production”.
Combining workshops, pro-audio events, live shows and Q&As, this year’s event features appearances from Marc Almond (Soft Cell), producer Howie B (UK, Björk), Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers) and Wolfgang Flür (Kraftwerk).
In 2026 Soundedit also celebrates 50 years of punk rock, culminating with the festival’s regular Man with the Golden Ear award—to be presented to Iggy Pop, producer Bogdan Kondradcki and Polish punk musician Ziemowit Kosmowski (Brak, Rendez-Vous).
Behind all of this is the festival’s founder—musician, producer and radio broadcaster Maciej Werk—and there’s far too much history and too many potential stories and anecdotes for us to fit into one hour-long conversation, but we’ll give it a go.
We discuss the festival, its origins, this year’s lineup, Werk’s band Hedone, his story in the music world, tales of music fandom behind the Iron Curtain and plenty more.
Visit Soundedit.pl for info, tickets and schedule.
