The Tortoise and the Hare in Thai

กาลครั้งหนึ่งนานมาแล้ว ในป่าใหญ่ มีกระต่ายตัวหนึ่งที่วิ่งเร็วมาก

วันหนึ่ง กระต่ายตัวนี้เห็นเต่าที่กำลังเดินอยู่ช้า ๆ

กระต่ายจึงหัวเราะแล้วพูดว่า "เจ้าเต่า เดินช้าอย่างนี้ เมื่อไหร่จะกลับถึงบ้าน"

เต่ารู้สึกไม่พอใจ เลยตอบไปว่า "ถึงฉันจะเดินช้า แต่ฉันก็กลับถึงบ้านทุกวัน เรามาวิ่งแข่งกันไหมล่ะ"

กระต่ายตอบตกลง และทั้งสองก็เริ่มวิ่งแข่งกัน

กระต่ายวิ่งออกไปอย่างรวดเร็ว แซงหน้าเต่าไปไกล

จากนั้นกระต่ายจึงคิดว่า นอนพักสักหน่อยดีกว่า ยังไงฉันก็ชนะอยู่แล้ว

ระหว่างนั้น เต่าก็เดินไปช้า ๆ จนเกือบจะเข้าเส้นชัย

กระต่ายตื่นขึ้นมาพอดี

เมื่อเห็นว่าเต่ากำลังจะเข้าเส้นชัย กระต่ายก็รีบวิ่ง แต่ก็ไม่ทัน เพราะเต่าได้เข้าเส้นชัยไปแล้ว
