WoW Forever and the Trouble with Twitter

Episode 156 | This week on Azeroth United, WoW Forever gets its first major round of development notes, a community dueling tournament raises the stakes to $100,000, and the conversation around gold buying and RMT somehow gets even messier.

Meanwhile, Blizzard finally gives us a release date for Midnight Patch 12.1.5: The Promise of Tomorrow, arriving October 13 with the Unbinding of Kith’ix, the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, Aqir Invasions, new mid-season progression, and more.

Then, in the Main Topic, we dive into WoW and the Trouble with Twitter. What began with Blizzard taking action against inappropriate names in the Forever beta quickly spiraled into developer comments, old social media posts, community outrage, and harassment. Where should the line be between developers speaking directly with players and Blizzard communicating official policy, and when does criticism go too far?
