John 12:12-19 — Palm Sunday (Ep.025), A. Palm Sunday

This episode is based on John 12:12-19, which is the reading for Palm Sunday. A great crowd welcomes Jesus, who is riding on a donkey, into Jerusalem with palm branches and shouts of “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the king of Israel!” The Pharisees felt threatened by Jesus’ popularity. While the people likely saw Jesus as a political Messiah, Jesus has come humbly on a donkey and will soon die and resurrect and be the Savior of our souls, overcoming sin and death.
