In this story there is the census ordered by Caesar Augustus, the trip from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus, the appearance of angels to the shepherds, and the shepherds visiting Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Here we see that even though Jesus is the Son of God his birth was very simple. Jesus is not a far away, hard to reach king. We can be close to Jesus no matter how humble are situation.
