TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
James 3:17–18
[17] But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. [18] And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (ESV)
SUMMARY

- an honest self-check on whether our lives reflect God’s wisdom
- purity as motives and desires that are clean

- being open to reason as a mark of humility
- mercy instead of condemnation when others do wrong
- good fruits that bless people in tangible ways
- impartiality and sincerity as the opposite of favoritism
- a prayer for rest and confidence that God gives wisdom
