TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 6:7–8
[7] “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. [8] Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. (ESV)
SUMMARY
Matthew 6 challenges us to drop empty phrases and trust that our Father already knows what we need. We slow down, name our real needs, and ask with the simple confidence of children who believe they are loved.
• Matthew 6:7–8 and the warning against empty words
• meditation space to name what we truly need
• relationship repair, financial provision, physical healing, emotional healing
• the freedom to ask without embarrassment or shame
• humility and childlike trust over religious performance
• resting tonight by laying needs before a caring Father
• prayer of adoption through Jesus and patient trust while we wait
