TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:

1 John 3:2–3

Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. [3] And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. (ESV)

SUMMARY

We slow down through 1 John 3:2-3 and let God’s promise reshape how we see ourselves right now. We remember we are God’s children today, we are not finished yet, and hope in Christ changes how we live tonight and tomorrow.

• the promise of becoming like Jesus when he appears
