TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:

John 6:37–38

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. [38] For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. (ESV)

SUMMARY

We sit with John 6:37-38 and the promise that Jesus never casts out the one who comes to him. We reflect on Christ’s humility, his submission to the Father’s will, and the peace that comes from receiving his righteousness by faith.

• reading John 6:37-38 as a steady promise of welcome
• Jesus coming from heaven to do the Father’s will
• the humility of the incarnation from womb to adulthood
• Christ resisting temptation and living perfectly in a broken world
• his righteousness credited to us through faith
• ending with gratitude and a prayer for peace and rest
Ponder those words as you prepare yourself for rest.
