TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE:

Psalm 62:1–2

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. [2] He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (ESV)

SUMMARY

We read Psalm 62 and sit with the line “For God alone my soul waits in silence,” letting it challenge our habit of complaining while we wait. We end with a prayer for God to steady our hearts at night as our rock, salvation, and fortress so we can rest without fear.

• Psalm 62:1 to 2 as a bedtime meditation
• The difference between noisy waiting and silent trust
• God’s faithfulness and wisdom in timing
• The blessing of waiting in God’s presence
• Rock and fortress imagery as a picture of stability
• A closing prayer for rest, confidence, and an unshaken soul
