532 - Flesheater (1988) Guest: Joe Testa

This week on Wheel of Horror, Alec and returning guest Joe Testa dig up the gloriously gory, gloriously ridiculous Flesh Eater (1988)! Directed by and starring Bill Hinzman, the legendary cemetery zombie from Night of the Living Dead, this low-budget Halloween nightmare unleashes a horde of undead maniacs on unsuspecting partygoers. We’re talking outrageous practical effects, hilariously terrible acting, gratuitous nudity, questionable filmmaking decisions, and a plot that basically boils down to zombies killing people for 90 minutes. Plus, we explore the bizarre history connecting Flesh Eater to George Romero’s zombie legacy, including Hinzman’s attempt to carve out his own piece of the undead pie. Is this forgotten VHS-era bloodbath a hidden zombie gem or just a shambling Night of the Living Dead knockoff? Grab your pumpkin beer, lock the doors, and join us as we find out!
