Episode 83: Charlie Werber (Lovely Little Girls, CHIROMANCER)

1 tim 4 min27 juni 2025

Drummer and composer Charlie Werber made his name in the 2010s applying his distinctive drumming skills to underground, Chicago rock bands like Lovely Little Girls.

More recently, a little state-hopping saw Charlie involved in other intriguing musical projects like CHIROMANCER (alongside composer, pianist and singer Evelyn Davis) and The Flying Luttenbachers.

The newly-released Krater (mastered by Todd Rittmann) sees Charlie release music under his own name for the first time—the album a dichotomy, with one half purely the hypnotic, cyclical drumming of Charlie and the other featuring Daniel O'Sullivan (of Ulver, Miracle and many other projects).

Charlie joins me to discuss the latest record and the unique story of where the impulse to create Krater arose. We also discuss some of Charlie's musical history and how he's found fulfilment from a career switch into body work and massage.
