Legacy Dance Tribute: Hex Hector Mixology Volume 6 (2015)

Legacy Dance Tribute, Circuit House Classics, 2015 — Volume 6 of our Hex Hector Mixology series collects the remixer’s club-defining reconstructions of pop and R&B favorites. This installment showcases why Hex earned a Grammy and became a staple of New York rooms like the Tunnel and the Limelight, translating emotive vocals into peak-time dancefloor moments. The set leans on familiar highlights and a few deeper finds, with Hex’s takes on Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied,” Toni Braxton’s “Un-Break My Heart” (Soul Hex Anthem Vocal), and Whitney Houston’s HQ2 club treatment of “I Learned From The Best.” Tamia’s “Stranger In My House” and Mariah Carey’s “Emotions” get HQ2/Hex club refits, while a surprise pick from Regina Belle points to Hector’s knack for mining underrated material. Expect roomy, driving mixes that balance nostalgia with modern peak-energy dynamics — a clear reminder of Hex Hector’s lasting impact on dance remix culture.
