House Tribute: David Morales Legacy Volume 4 (2017)

This Legacy Dance Tribute from 2017 presents a focused house-music retrospective celebrating David Morales and his knack for turning pop, disco, and soul into club-ready moments. The mix traces Morales’ work across decades, from '70s and '80s source material to his definitive '90s Def Mix-era reworks, with the aim of highlighting his range rather than offering a strict chronology. Highlights include Morales’ club takes on Donna Summer’s “Melody of Love,” First Choice’s “Love Thang,” and Janet Jackson’s “When I Think of You,” alongside '90s club favorites by Jody Watley and Lisa Fischer and pop remixes for Mariah Carey. Across roughly 87 minutes the set balances gospel-tinged uplift, peak-time edits, and melodic pop reimagined for the dancefloor, making this volume a concise listen for fans of Morales’ signature remix craft and anyone curious how classic songs were reframed for clubs.
