Legacy Dance Tribute: Hex Hector Mixology Volume 5 (2015)

This Legacy Dance Tribute episode, Hex Hector Mixology Volume 5 (2015), is the fifth installment in a series celebrating Hex Hector’s influential club remixes. Designed for dance-floor listeners and longtime remix fans, the set collects extended club mixes and vocal reworks that illustrate why Hector was a go-to reworker of pop and disco material. Highlights include Hex’s Grammy-winning vocal remix of Jennifer Lopez’s “Waiting for Tonight,” Deborah Cox’s defiant “Absolutely Not,” and Donna Summer’s dramatic take on “I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiró).” The mix also turns up soulful and anthemic moments from Whitney Houston’s “Heartbreak Hotel” (feat. Faith Evans & Kelly Price), Anastacia’s “I’m Outta Love,” and a Stars on 54 club version of “If You Could Read My Mind.” Clocking in around 79 minutes, Volume 5 leans into sweeping vocal edits, big-room percussion, and the kind of peak-time arrangements that made these versions staples in circuit-house sets.
