NuDisco & House: Purple Disco Machine (2018 Retrospective)

NuDisco and House — Legacy Dance Tribute, 2018. This episode is a career-focused retrospective on Tino Piontek, aka Purple Disco Machine, charting a breakout year that reintroduced classic hooks to modern dancefloors. It highlights his knack for remixing and editing across NuDisco, Deep House, Indie Dance, and classic house textures while keeping the groove front and center. Key moments include the 2018 smash Dished (Male Stripper), which repurposes Man 2 Man’s hook with Loleatta Holloway samples, plus PDM’s takes on Hercules & Love Affair’s Do You Feel the Same, Chic’s Funky Bones (Glitterbox Edit), and a roomy remix of Jamiroquai’s Cloud 9. You’ll also hear edits and collaborations that showcase his range, from peak-time vox mixes to disco-flavored reworks. This mix isn’t a capstone so much as a salute to an artist on the rise — a snapshot of an emerging producer who turned vintage material into contemporary club anthems and set the stage for bigger things to come.
