Yung Pueblo, a writer who meditates two hours every day, told Lewis that you can't buy that kind of calm. Success won't save you if you can't handle what's happening in your own mind.
His practice starts on a heavy morning. Be honest that the tension is there, then say it out loud to whoever is closest, the way he tells his wife, “I'm feeling a little heavy today.” Stress you ignore spills onto the people you love as arguments nobody needed.
After a 60-day silent retreat beside people with decades of practice, he saw it plainly. Every time he fights change, he creates his own stress.
The next time pressure shows up, you can name it out loud and let it breathe until it fades.
